The Bombers now have a formidable end of game plan highlighted by the trio of Delinn Betances, Andrew Miller, and now Chapman.
The Yankees sent over minor league third baseman Eric Jagielo, second baseman Tony Renda and righties Rookie Davis and Caleb Cotham.
Cotham made his debut with the Yankees this past season, with mixed results. Despite an impressive 11-1 strikeout to walk ratio, Cotham was torched for seven runs in just under ten innings (Cotham also surrendered four long balls).
The return for Chapman was much less than what was originally offered by the Dodgers earlier in the offseason. It's easy to speculate that Chapman's price tag dropped dramatically after allegations of domestic violence surfaced.
Chapman is expected to serve a suspension of some length. If the suspension lasts longer than 45 days, the Yankees would acquire another year of service time (Chapman is expected to be a free agent at the end of this season).
